Australians are struggling with the rising cost of living and bracing for another interest rate hike on the heels of the 0.75 percentage point rise in the United States overnight.

Data this week showed inflation hitting a 21-year high of 6.1 per cent, but Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers has said this would get worse, likely reaching 7.75 per cent in the December quarter.
