Struggling for Purpose

The refugee crisis throughout the world has been heavy on my heart for some time now. Christians and Muslims are fleeing their homes to escape persecution and war in the Middle East.

In this podcast I share and excerpt from the book Unoffendable: How Just One Change Can Make All of Life Better by Brant Hansen. It captures how I feel Christians should be responding to the refugee crisis.

If you’re looking for a ministry to support, I highly recommend Life Raft International which is helping displaced Pakistani Christians in Bangkok, Thailand obtain refugee status with the UN.

Also check out Cure International who are bringing healing to children with treatable conditions around the world through surgical care and the life-changing message of God’s love.

Despite the political climate in our country and the world, Christians must remember that our mission hasn’t changed.

Whether our government or the populace shares our convictions we must continue to stay on course by sharing the Gospel through feeding and clothing the poor, widows, and orphans.

The next 10 podcasts in the series will be interviews with Christian creatives.

What is a creative? Anyone who creates something for others to consume. It can be a blog, podcast, music, books, or online courses.

At the moment I have five people in mind that I want to interview. I’m in the process of setting up those interviews and hopefully I can get them recorded ahead of time so that I can avoid the last-minute nature of the previous “top-of-mind” series.

I will be limiting the interview portion of the podcasts to 10 minutes. There may be additional time before and after the actual interview but the time with the creative will be limited to 10 minutes.

I also need your help. Please spread the word about the podcast. Also, take a minute or two to rate and review the podcast in iTunes.

Is there a creative Christian you’d like me to interview? Please share your suggestion in the comments below.

There are going to be some big changes with this podcast and this blog. Listen as I share what will happen in the next 30 days. There’s a lot of heavy breathing in this podcast because I’m still recovering from a chest cold.

Yesterday’s announcement of the Apple Watch led to a lot of snark on social media which I eagerly participated in. My friend Matt Farina and I had a back and forth about the announcement which left me unconvinced of his position. After a night’s sleep and some further contemplation I recorded this little diddy.

One year I had a birthday party and nobody I invited showed up. How does that relate to podcasting? Listen and find out. Also, this podcast seems to be turning into a podcast about podcasting. Should I keep doing that?
