For this year’s special Labor Day show, guest host Douglas Haynes focuses in on student loan debt, how it’s affecting borrowers in Wisconsin, and what the Biden administration’s recently announced plan means for the future of student loans and the 40 million Americans who hold them.

Our guests for the hour are education professor Nicholas Hillman and recent University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh graduates Alyssa Reinke and Corey Ziemann.

Nicholas Hillman is a professor in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where his research examines how finance, policy, and geography shape educational opportunities in the United States. He is co-editor of the book Accountability and Opportunity in Higher Education: The Civil Rights Dimension (Harvard Education Press, 2018).

Alyssa Reinke is a 2021 graduate of UW Oshkosh, where she double majored in geography and environmental studies.

Corey Ziemann is a 2022 graduate of UW Oshkosh, where he majored in environmental studies.
