We cover five common student teaching questions. From how to work with a co-op and classroom expectations, as well as time management and edtech, we cover it all. Specifically, we cover the following questions about student teaching.
1. My biggest question is honestly how to manage the work and social life aspect of teaching. I’ve managed it somewhat over the year of pre-student teaching and student teaching in kindergarten, but I’m still struggling. Mine is how to set boundaries between school and home. I don’t have to worry so much about it right now, but I know myself, and I know I’ll struggle with it when I have my own classroom!!
2. Finding the balance of managing classroom behavior but not having too many rules or appearing mean.
3. How can we do a good job of trying new things and making our practicums our own without ruining established classroom rules/procedures? I'm so nervous to try new things in case it causes issues for my mentor teacher.
4. What are some ways you can cope or things you can do when you and your co-op have completely different teaching philosophies?
5. What are some ways you can transform worksheets or present worksheets engagingly without differing from worksheets?
