With a deportation order against Mahmoud Khalil, a key Columbia university activist and green card holder, the Trump administration has made clear that any opposition to Israeli domination will be interpreted as illegal, whether or not such opposition is protected by the U.S. Constitution. A new documentary, The Encampments, that has captured the public’s attention, is showing in theaters around the country and prominently features Khalil.
