Welcome to the sixth and final episode of Adventures Await! We have just returned back from our five week trip. Instead of traveling to another country today, Brooke will have a special guest, Heather, who is a local coordinator for an exchange program to tell about how you can bring other cultures to your town instead of having to travel out of the country!

Welcome to the fifth episode of Adventures Await!  Were you able to guess where we will be traveling to today? That’s right, we’ve just landed in our fourth travel destination, Mexico!  Have you ever wondered what Mexico is like and what to expect when you travel here?  Well you’ve come to the right place!  During this episode of Adventures Await, Brooke will give you quick facts about Mexico and then a special guest, Sebastian will give you special insight into Mexico!

The backwash of human history, the pink mold forming itself amongst the waters of knowledge, the place where ideas and inspiration go to die with dignity... The Grey is all of these things and more, yet... nothing at all. Soon enough, we shall all be introduced... and then, things will be beautiful once more. No more pain, no more individuality - only endless wastes of cinder. All hail The Grey! Death to the flesh!

This week, our host learns that his life is probably in danger, and that the subject of next week's episode has already decided for him... Dear listeners, I believe we have passed beyond the boundaries of mere horror fiction. How I regret that you've gotten mixed up in all of this... But hey: if you're reading this, it's probably already too late! So why not cozy up to the fire once more and listen to a tale of nightmare made real, whether it's fiction or not!

Thanks as always to the lovely Arthel Hayes for her dramatic readings at the beginning and end of this week's episode. Those readings are derived from H. P. Lovecraft's "The Call of Cthulhu" and Thomas Ligotti's "Nethescurial", listed here in the order they appear.

Welcome to the fourth episode of Adventures Await!  We have just landed in our third travel destination, Germany!  If you have ever thought about traveling to Germany or are interested in learning more about Germany and its culture, you have come to the right place! Brooke will share a story about hosting exchange students and then a special guest, Jacob will tell all about Germany!

After last week's encounter with the mysterious "Margaret", we're once again analyzing a short piece of horror literature, one written by infamous recluse and literary genius Thomas Ligotti. Will we survive the attempt? Or will we be swallowed by a world of strange literature, never to return to mundane reality ever again? ...and if we were, would that really be so bad?

Thanks as always to Arthel Hayes for providing the bookending quotes for this week's episode and for generally helping me keep somewhat sane as I forge ahead with this project. Both quotes derive from the story covered here today: "Vasterian" by Thomas Ligotti, Songs of a Dead Dreamer (1986).

Welcome back to the third episode of Adventures Await!  Were you able to guess where we will be traveling to today? That’s right, we’ve just landed in our second travel destination, Italy!  Have you ever wondered what Italy is like and what to expect when you travel here?  Well you’ve come to the right place!  During this episode of Adventures Await, Brooke will give you quick facts all about Italy and then a special guest, Viola will give you special insight into Italy!

On the sophomoric episode of Sect of the Weird, we throw out all previously-established conventions and enjoy the company of a mysterious guest, all in aid of getting to the heart of one of the most enigmatic voices in horror: Shirley Jackson, author of The Haunting of Hill House and "The Lottery". By the end, our host won't be quite so comfortable in his warm study as he once was...

As always thanks to Arthel Hayes for her patience, dedication to, and talent at portraying the mythical "Margaret" and for providing the bookending quotes for today's episode. Those quotes are taken from Shirley Jackson's "A Lovely House/A Visit (for Dylan Thomas)" and aforementioned ...Hill House, listed here in the order they appear.

Welcome back to the Adventures Await podcast! You’ve packed your bags and now it’s time for your first flight across the globe! Did you guess where we are traveling? That’s right, we’re heading to Spain! During this episode of Adventures Await, Brooke will give you quick thoughts and tips all about Spain and then a special guest, Noa will give you insight into Spain that you may not know about!

Jacob Smith takes listeners on a surreal voyage through one of the seminal works of Jorges Luis Borges, exploring the thin, blurry line between fiction and reality. Enjoy books like House of Leaves or Pale Fire? Then you'll not want to miss this one!

Special thanks to Arthel Hayes for providing the readings that bookend today's episode! Both quotes derive from the story covered today: "Uqbar, Tlön, and Orbis Tertius" by Jorges Luis Borges, Ficciones (1941-1944).
