In our fourth and final Student Spotlight episode, host Brigid Curran Hackett sits down with DePaul Finance student Tai Espino. At the time of this recording, Tai was a junior studying Finance with a double minor in economics and physics. Tai has previously worked at Kirkland Ellis and has also participated in exploratory programs with Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. Tai returned for his second summer as an Equity Research Analyst at Bank of America this summer. With so many internships and job experiences behind him, Tai has an abundance of knowledge for other finance students interested in giving back to their community! In the third Student Spotlight episode, host Brigid Curran Hackett viturally sits down with DePaul Finance student Jose Garcia to discuss his unique journey entering the world of finance. Jose served in the United States Marine Corps from 2011 to 2017 where he helped the U.S. conduct operations in both the U.S. and Japan. After his service, he decided to pursue his higher education academic journey, beginning at a community college before transferring to DePaul. Jose currently interns as a PPP intern at Wintrust and post-graduation, will begin his full-time role at BMO Capital Markets as a corporate banking analyst this summer. Join Jose and Brigid as they talk about Jose's time in the military, tips for transfer students, how to succeed at DePaul, and everything in between!

In this episode, we discuss the flow of money through the economy during a pandemic. Masa Najjar and Kevin Albrecht sit down with DePaul University finance professor, Ted Heldring. Heldring worked for JP Morgan as the Head of Leveraged Finance for the Midwest Region, where his primary area of focus was leveraged financing. He is a member of the Banking & Capital Markets Academy Planning Committee and has 33 years of experience in the banking industry. In the part 2 of our conversation about diversity and inclusion in the finance world, hosts Damita Menezes and Masa Najjar invited four more students to take part in the discussion. Jose Rivera and Jevaughn Thompson begin by discussing microaggressions, what they are and how to respond to them in the workplace, diving deep into how microaggressions can be detected and also avoided. In the segment that follows, minority students Sebastian Moreno and Daniel Weber give advice on how to succeed in the finance world, outlining the steps they took to achieve success and gain fantastic internship experiences which ultimately led to their full-time roles.

In this episode, we focus on diversity and inclusion in the finance world; an industry that is known to lack inclusive efforts and diversity among its employees. Our hosts Damita Menezes and Masa Najjar invited four finance students to a panel to talk about the difficulties and obstacles that occur in the profession. First, finance students Mackenzie Larsen and Sydney Le discuss gender complexities in the workplace. Secondly, finance students Seerat Kaler and Christian Lambert talk about their experiences with systemic racism and from their perspective, how it continues to affect diversity and inclusion expansion efforts for entry level recruitment and leadership roles.
