Stumble

Listen Later

Stumble

I’m no good at tests, babe I really must confess

I keep trying to understand but then I second guess

Seems every step I take, my legs just start to shake

My head can’t seem to deal with another heartbreak

I try to tell you all about it but my mind’s a jumble

When I try to say the words babe all I do is mumble

It makes me angry, makes me hurt and I start to grumble

I’m trying to be strong for you , carry the load but I stumble

I’ll be here till the end of time, go through the motions like a mime

Pouring coffee to an empty chair, loneliness seems such a crime

Our hearts synchronize, I hear you laugh see how you blink your eyes

I fight the silence and always lose, babe I’m at the brink he cries

I try to tell you all about it but my mind’s a jumble

When I try to say the words babe all I do is mumble

It makes me angry, makes me hurt and I start to grumble

I’m trying to be strong for you , carry the load but I stumble

Help me walk, hold my head straight, goddamn the distance we create

Close the gap, bridge the span; join my heart to yours honey consecrate

Bless us and keep us together, mated for life  we’re

birds of a feather

If it’s cold we’ll snuggle. Crank the AC if it’s hot so we can snuggle in any weather

I try to tell you all about it but my mind’s a jumble

When I try to say the words babe all I do is mumble

It makes me angry, makes me hurt and I start to grumble

I’m trying to be strong for you , carry the load but I stumble

So let me lean on you, you can lean on me too

We might stumble a lot, but we’ll get through

Stumble with me babe, let’s stumble off into the sunset...
