Stuttgart Harvest Church and The Church In Malvern Messages

How important would some of the last words be from the most important person of all time? Pretty important.

This month we are teaching from a portion of the last planned teaching Jesus gave to his disciples before he would allow himself to be arrested hours later, tortured, and crucified. These words must have been highly important to Him and therefor his disciples and now important to us.

Like a reluctant parent, hesitant to let them go, Paul gives them one final list... "Oh, yes... before I go... don't forget these things."

We continue to follow Paul as he takes these new believers (and us)... Back to School Jesus Style.

If you had only 3-weeks to lay a foundation for life for the ones you love... that would be vital information. That's what Paul did for the Thessalonica church made up of all new followers of Jesus... so he writes to them to fill in some gaps in their foundation. He takes them, and us, Back To School... Jesus Style.

Paul strengthens the foundation of a church started in only three weeks... from all new believers... and left to survive on their own. What kind of foundation will allow them to survive persecution? You will be surprised as Paul takes them back to school.

A journey through 1 Thessalonians.

Jesus, the Light of the World... gives us our assignment. But before we can get to it... we have to know the rest of the story... the story of Jesus, the Light of the World.

Jesus the light includes us in His assignment which was given to Him, and us, by the Father... and we are to run toward it even if it feels unsafe.

We often hear, "Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah." That's simply not the reality, Jesus presented himself as the Messiah over and over again. From his own words, "I am the light of the world" the Jewish listeners knew clearly what Jesus was declaring and they had to do something with that declaration... so do we.

The most famous Bible verse in the world can't be understood without some of the most overlooked verses. The quote from Jesus in John 3:16 requires the rest of the quote from Jesus.

If Jesus describes Himself as the Light of the World... we probably should understand more about this light... and that's not lite.

Jesus Light... not lite.
