This bonus pod is our salute to the menswear Tintin! The comics and CGI movie are a menswear enthusiast's dream. Each panel is vibrant and expressive, being a great case study for mid-century European menswear that is ripe for inclusion in an inspo album. Think tattersall vests, fedoras, boaters, bow ties, and belt backs! Spielberg's mocap film does this faithfully, not just having each character in a distinct vintage outfit but also taking care to render the garments *accurately*. You can see textures of the suits, the 30s style ribbing of the sweaters, and the appropriate pleats on belt backs and trousers— it's uncanny how real everything is! Who needs Apparel Arts when you have Tintin?

This isn’t done just through piecemeal edits of our outfits but also through intentional, social moves like mingling fashion friends into your friend groups, actively making Occasions for dressing up, and sharing your interests and how they connect with your clothing choices. There’s also the fact that being bold yourself could help Widen the aperture for other people and may even encourage them to dress up themselves, if they want to! So much of our confidence comes from the bold dressers who came before!

Even though there isn't a dandy, Apparel Arts dude in this film, *everyone* on screen is dripping with easy, vintage style. The last episode of 2025 is here, and it's a big one! The boys revisit the topic of "Outfit Repeating", diving into WHEN they decide to repeat, their favorite fit-templates to do, and the garments that have stayed with them over the years...as well as the suspiciously similar substitutes they buy when they outgrow the old one. Ethan goes even further, discussing how he uses old photos as a form of *inspiration* rather than a template, mainly because there's always more temporal distance (years) between when he repeats. After all, photos from five years ago are more "good" than they are "cringy". Oh, and Ethan spends time talking about his decision to go private on Instagram.

On theme for the season, this bonus episode is about the trope-filled 80s/90s menswear of Scrooged (1988). Everything is coded for audience convenience: corporate guys wear DB power suits, and a nerd has round glasses and a bow tie. But here’s the thing– it’s all good! And not only does this film make good use of menswear stereotypes, but it also features some niche moves that you don’t see today, like proper black tie outerwear, a festive doeskin waistcoat, and vibrant, argyle-filled golf attire. The costuming in this movie is charming, as it not only fits the characters who wear it but also serves as great inspo fodder!
