Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter for $44 billion was finalised on Thursday, October 28th, and the months-long process over the ownership of one of the most loved and used Social media platforms was finally over. Musk terminated Twitter Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal and legal affairs and policy chief Vijaya Gadde, immediately after taking control of the company.

Twitter as a company since its inception has been traditionally dependent on advertising for the bulk of its revenue and has always been cited to have left-lining culture. As Musk took control, people have been asking if the banned public figures would be allowed back to the platform, however interesting this question might be, the real question lies if Twitter would ever be able to compete with social media giants like the Meta group and Snapchat in terms of users and revenue.
