One of our most enduring models is Subaru’s all-wheel-drive Outback SUV –
more a high riding wagon and it finished last year as our fifth best-selling large
SUV. Some customers were disappointed at the lack of a six-cylinder engine in
the current series when it was launched in 2021. however, Subaru Australia has
just added two all-new turbocharged variants to the range. The Outback AWD
Sport XT and AWD Touring XT feature a 2.4-litre direct injection turbo boxer
engine with 183kW and 350Nm of torque – The Sport XT $52,190, the Touring XT
$55,990. Braked towing capacity on the turbo models has risen to 2,400kgs. Also
on the agenda for later this year is the return of a turbo Forester XT SUV plus in
April the arrival of the all-new small Subaru Crosstrek SUV from $34,990. I’m
