Puede ser que ventualmente no vamos a tener una cultura común de programas de televisión y películas?  Quizás cada vez un poco mas en nuestras cuevitas particulares. También hablamos de los paparazzi - lo bueno y lo malo, y también las tácticas que usan los famosos para negarles los imágenes y autógrafos tan lucrativos.  Hablamos bastante de Britney Spears que últimamente se esta viendo mas como victima de la fama que simplemente de joven y "loca". Mencionamos ademas a Lady Diana, Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow y otra gente famosa y como lidiaban con los paparazzi.  Alguna pregunta o algún comentario? Hoy hablamos sobre las oportunidades para los actores - se esta complicando la question de 'casting'.  Hace falta ser un miembro del grupo que se esta representando en la pantalla? Le da autenticidad y/o les tocan tener las chances que hasta ahora siertos grupos no han tendio?  Tambien hablamos sobre actores que son 'metodos' - los que viven en el personaje que estan interpretando durante todo el rodaje. Temas complicadas para solo 30 minutos pero es solamente el principio de la discusion - manden preguntas y comentarios! :)  

Los peligros de borrar la existential de gente que nos ofende por qualquier razon...

En este episodio, Karen y Christina analizan el movimiento social reciente de "cancelar" a un/a celebrity y las ramificaciones profesionales y personales que ello produce. 

Karen  and Christina  TRY to review the 2006 Japanese animated film: PAPRIKA, a science-fiction psychological thriller co-written and directed by Satoshi Kon based on Yasutaka Tsutsui's 1993 novel of the same name, about a research psychologist who uses a device that permits therapists to help patients by entering their dreams. If you find it hard to describe your dreams to other people, it turns out it's also hard to describe a movie about dreams to other people! Enjoy our struggle ;)  It is definitely worth watching, just pay close attention or you lose track!

We also touch on conspiracy theorists, lucid dreaming,  Santa and the Toothfairy, Johnny Depp's unceremonious drop from the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series, Mads Mikkelsen and more.

Karen and Christina review SEDUCED AND ABANDONED - a documentary starring Alec Baldwin and Producer James Toback.  Is it subtitled? No. It's in English, but its set mostly in France and its about getting movies made so we're perfectly fine with this choice - we make the rules!  We talk about bankability of stars, the weird new role of marketing movies, niche markets, are blockbusters even possible on the same scale anymore since going to see movies in a theater feels like a thing of the past?!  for now that feels like a yes...

Karen and Christina review the most adorably French of all French films : Amelie .  It’s a fanciful romantic comedy about  a young woman who discretely orchestrates the lives of the people around her, creating a world exclusively of her own making. 


We also talk: popcorn!  (and the lesser movie snacks), elevating popcorn with truffle, tajin, nutritional yeast and more.  We mention the most excellent podcast: Settling the Score -its about film scores and its SO GOOD - you must check it out. Tom Cruise going TO the movie theater these days, drive-ins, and what might make you see a movie you otherwise wouldn’t and several film genres. Lastly - Key and Peele's “OKAY”
