The study conducted comprehensive multi-nomics profiling on 108 participants, aged 25 to 75 years, over a median tracking period of 1.7 years, with some participants being followed for up to 6.8 years. The analysis revealed that the majority of molecular changes during aging are nonlinear, with significant shifts occurring around the ages of 44 and 60. These changes were observed across various biological pathways and molecules, including those related to immune regulation, carbohydrate metabolism, cardiovascular disease, lipid metabolism, and more. The study identified two major transition periods during aging, highlighting the importance of these nonlinear changes in understanding aging and associated diseases. This extensive dataset provides a robust framework for examining the molecular dynamics of aging and offers insights into the biological processes and disease risks that evolve over time.
