Much like Bob Dylan and The Velvet Underground, Steve does not appreciate the recordings of The Doors and Neil Yong. But, that is not to say they did not write some decent songs.  So, Steve compiled a playlist of covers of those two artists.  Included are songs from the artists: Echo & the Bunnymen, Bettye Lavette, Johnny Cougar (Mellencamp), Saint Etienne, The Ramones, David Bowie, Merry Clayton, Simple Minds, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Bryan Ferry, Duran Duran, Rush, Sand Rubies and Richard Cheese and Lounge Against The Machine.

There was a good amount of music played on college radio in the 1980s that was not new wave or post-punk but had more to do with the heartland rock being played on rock radio, the 1960s psychedelic-tinged jangle pop and even country and southern rock.  Included are songs from the artists: The Long Ryders, The Del Fuegos, Green On Red, Dancing Hoods, Rank & File, Guadalcanal Diary, Los Lobos, Dumptruck, Jason & The Scorchers, The Gun Club, The Del-Lords, The dB's, Cruzados, Lone Justice, The Dream Syndicate and The Rave-Ups.

Drew and Steve select an hour of great songs from 2020 without repeating any songs played last year!  Artists this week are Dream Wife, Gum Country, Fontaines DC, The Smashing Pumpkins, Hey Steve, The Rentals, Hazel English, Freezepop, The Killers, Shopping, Public Practice, The Struts, Wyldlife, Sweeping Promises.  Originally airing January 1, 2021.

This episode is chock full of 80s music.  But, specifically about a) songs that reference The 80's and b) songs that are about RUNNING in/into/with the NIGHT.  I am of the opinion that these were both common themes in popular music in the 80's.

Included are songs from the artists: Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Steel Breeze, Loverboy, New England, Styx, Killing Joke, Franke & The Knockouts, Lionel Ritchie, FM-84 w/Ollie Wride, UFO, Uriah Heep, Nick Gilder, Triumph, April Wine.
