Everyone has some good or not so good Habits.
Habit is the behavior that we learn or develop which eventually becomes automatic.
It takes about four to 9 weeks for a new behavior to become routine or habit. Remember that, in most of the case you can't eliminate habit... you can replace.
These 7 steps can make it easier to establish a new behavior pattern.
1. Set a clear goal with a specific outcome or process, daily action, and timeline.
2. Find out replacement behavior: Decide on an alternate of the habits you want to change. The alternative should be positive or not harmful.
3. Be aware of your triggers: Every action has the trigger or cue which leads you to take action. If you are aware of that you can make it obvious or invisible.
4. Post reminders to yourself. Keep a note around the places where the behavior usually occurs. You can also have a family member or colleague to remind you about your goal.
5. Get an accountability partner: Have an agreement with someone and be accountable to him/her for the action and your goals.
6. Daily affirmations. This helps to make your goal a part of your subconscious mind, which will remind you to practice the new behavior and keeps you focused and motivated
7. Reward yourself and celebrate:
Give yourself a treat at regular intervals or after reaching the small milestone. It is not necessary to have a big or expensive reward. You can reward yourself with anything you like or love.
Also, celebrate the improvement or some achievement.
These 7 steps will help you to change your habit.
