My guest this week was Jay Platt, “Mr. Unstoppable”, who is a former Marine Corps Drill Instructor, a cancer survivor, and an accomplished adventure athlete. As a professional speaker, author, and coach, Jay has inspired thousands of people to take their performance to the next level and beyond.
He is the author of “No Matter What! How To Be Unstoppable, Despite The Obstacles, Starting Today” and is the subject of the new documentary film, “Living Unstoppable.”
In 1998, he was retired from the Marine Corps, as a Gunnery Sergeant, after a rare form of cancer attacked his eyes, brain, spine, and kidneys.
Refusing to quit, he rebuilt himself and became an adventure athlete; raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities, doing things that will make your head spin.
Jay is also the only person is history to swim across the Mississippi River while handcuffed, shackled, and blindfolded, which he did last Veteran's Day to raise money for Wounded Warriors.
He has also hiked the Appalachian Trail and also swam from Alcatraz Island to San Francisco with his hands and ankles tied.
This show was an amazing testament to a man who has overcome greatly and has dedicated his life to raising money for charity by doing unique athletic challenges.
