Hey Bears! This week we are talking face masks. To follow State guidance on keeping our Bear Family healthy this fall, we will be wearing Face Masks out and about. That means anytime you are outside of your residence halls, pop on a mask.

While most people who get COVID-19 do recover, we want to do our part to keep those more vulnerable to a severe or complicated infection safe! Wearing a mask protects those around you more than it does yourself. Even if you feel comfortable or are not at a higher risk, please protect your classmates, friends, peers, and the staff and faculty on campus.

So remember, BearsCare: Wear a Mask.

· GNDR 285- Gender in the Contemporary Global Order

· MAS 100- Introduction to Mexican American Studies

· MAS 225- Latina/o History*not in the Liberal Arts Core

· SOC 237- The Sociology of Race, Racism, and Power

· Consider learning another language

If you are watching as a UNC Bear, these classes exist in our Liberal Arts Core AND will count towards your total 120 credits for graduation (if you have already completed the LAC requirements). If you are not part of UNC—and have the opportunity at a local institution near you—consider searching for similar class titles.

Hey Bears! This Success Weekly is all about your June journal and goals. Every month, we encourage taking time to reflect: what are you proud of? What do you want to do differently? What are your priorities? Setting up a monthly journal—it can be as minimal or artistic as you feel—gives you the time to reflect and plan for a successful month ahead!

Often, the goals we set are treated as if carved in stone with tons of pressure that doesn’t account for… LIFE. While clearly defined goals help keep us all moving towards what we want to become—we cannot let them overshadow what we learn, grow, and do along the way. Take these five minutes to consider all that you accomplished in the past few months and tell yourself one key statement anytime you feel the doubt creeping in on today’s Success Weekly.
