In Episode 153 I got to talk with Basile Fattal from the successful Kickstarter campaign, TIMIO. TIMIO is an educational audio and music player that uses magnetic discs to unlock a library of curated content, from nursery rhymes and lullabies to fairy tales and vocabulary, all in 5 different languages: ENGLISH, SPANISH, FRENCH, GERMAN and DUTCH.

TIMIO consists of two parts: the Portable Digital Audio Player and the Interactive Content Discs that activate the content on the Digital Audio Player. 

Unlike other kids' audio players on the market, TIMIO is interactive.     

Not only does it allow children to select the content they’d like to play, but with the vocabulary discs, TIMIO will also quiz the child to find an item. Children are more engaged and this interactivity reinforces the learning process.

In episode 150 I got to talk with creator Carter Malloy about his new equity crowdfunding platform,  Acretrader. In episode 147 I got to talk with Alison Buehler about her successful Kickstarter campaign, Relatable Chapter Book Series for Diverse Developing Readers. Only 15% of African American 4th graders in Mississippi scored at the proficient reading level on the National Literacy Exam last year. That number is unacceptable.

Children become fluent readers by DEVOURING early chapter book series like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Captain Underpants, or Magic Tree House. 

There are virtually NO popular chapter book series written by African American authors. Only 7% of all children's books are authored by African American, Native American, and Hispanic Americans combined.

In episode 144 - I got to talk with Alex Davis from the successful Kickstarter project, Pharos Watches. Pharos Watches is proud to announce the Sentinel Collection consisting of two models: the full lume Sentinel and sunburst Sentinel B.
