Now that we have started to get into the hang of things, come catch up with us! With COVID-19 and us being first-year college students, we share our thoughts and feelings about our first few weeks of college and our everyday lives and how we maintain a positive experience while navigating through this situation. 

Communication, comprehension, compassion, compromise, commitment, and certainty. In this episode, we talk about the 6 C’s and how they can play a role in maintaining a healthy relationship within not only romantic relationships but also platonic relationships. We also talk about the red flags to look for in unhealthy relationships and how to recover from such an experience.

If we ran a Hmong fast-food chain, what would we sell? What is even considered Hmong food? Join our conversation as we discuss these questions and talk about our favorite Asian foods such as papaya, pho, khaub piaj, and of course, rice with water. In this episode, we talk about COVID-19 and its impact on the Hmong community. We share stories of encountering microaggressions in person and blatant racism on social media. We also touch on the way the U.S. government is handling this pandemic and how it perpetuates the distrust many Hmong people have about the American healthcare system. The stories that are shared in this episode are not only our own, but also the stories of many other Hmong people in the community including our parents, grandparents, cousins, and friends.

According to a research done in 2010 by the Wilder Foundation, 40 to 85 percent of Hmong people have experienced some kind of diagnosable mental health disorder compared to 20 to 26 percent of the general U.S. population. In this episode, we are joined with Kao Kia Lee, a rising high school senior, to talk about her experience battling with mental illnesses.
