Sudden Double Deep

For Jeanette's birthday pick she chose a triple bill of POINT movies. We have the cool, classic John Boorman revenge flick, Point Blank, which stars Lee Marvin and Angie Dickinson. Takeshi Kitano's dry, comedic and violent, Boiling Point. We top it off with Kathryn Bigelow's testosterone-fuelled riot, Point Break, starring Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze, Lori Petty and Gary Busey.

This year we decided our Christmas triple bill should be a comfort watch, and seeing as Peter Jackson's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth saga were originally released in time for the festive season, it seemed like a no brainer.

We were also super excited to have comedian, artist, podcaster and all round raconteur Stephen Trumble back on the show. You should definitely check out his show, 50 Uses For the Word, Love.

Lord of the Rings stars Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee, Viggo Mortensen, Orlando Bloom, John Rhys-Davies, Sean Bean, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Ian Holm, Cate Blanchett, Liv Tyler, Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis, John Noble, David Wenham, Miranda Otto, Karl Urban, Bernard Hill and Brad Dourif.

We've got Liam and Eleanor back on our podcast to talk about Viggo Mortensen's swinging winky in David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises, which also stars Naomi Watts and Vincent Cassel, written by Steve Knight (Hummingbird, Peaky Blinders, Locke, Taboo)
