karb chehre se mah o saal ka dhoya jaye by Shahid Kabeer

karb chehre se mah-o-sāl kā dhoyā jaa.e

aaj fursat se kahīñ baiTh ke royā jaa.e

phir kisī nazm kī tamhīd uThā.ī jaa.e

phir kisī jism ko lafzoñ meñ samoyā jaa.e

kuchh to ho raat kī sarhad meñ utarne kī sazā

garm sūraj ko samundar meñ Duboyā jaa.e

baj ga.e raat ke do ab to vo aane se rahe

aaj apnā hī badan oḌh ke soyā jaa.e

narm dhāge ko masaltā hai koī chuTkī meñ

saḳht ho jaa.e to motī meñ piroyā jaa.e

itnī jaldī to badalte nahīñ hoñge chehre

gard-ālūd hai ā.īne ko dhoyā jaa.e

maut se ḳhauf-zada jiine se be-zār haiñ log

is alamiye pe hañsā jaa.e ki royā jaa.e
