As someone who has had many suicide attempts, I know first hand how difficult it can be dealing with depression. we allow the things going on in our lives to feed us this lie about us not matter. We tell ourselves that this world would be better without us in it. forgetting that we are here for a purpose. No matter how bad it seems, it will not last always. After the rain, the sun will shine. There is so much help out there. Please do not be ashamed to speak up and seek help.
To those of us who ask others how they are doing when we don't really care, may we no longer do that. Many are fighting a battle we know nothing of. May we learn to truly care for one another. May we learn to care for those in our lives. If someone we know has become withdrawn suddenly, may we make it our business to check and make sure that person is ok. Let us be that listening ear, that shoulder, that voice. we never know how many lives can be saved just thought a simple act of kindness.
