Suing Over Social Media, Federal Funding has Been Halted and Giving Tuesday: Be Still Inc.

Today on Spanning the State Kristin Brey and Brian Noonan start the show with a big conversation about social media and our youths. MPS announced they are joining a list of other school districts who are suing popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat for contributing to the crisis in youth mental health. Kristin and Brian discuss whether the lawsuit is necessary or if there is a better option. Later Jesse Urban, President, and Founder of Be Still Inc. joins Kristin and Brian for Giving Tuesday. Urban explains how the nonprofit helps provide Christian church leaders a break from clergy burnout. She shares how the Be Still utilizes short-term stays through AirBNB and Vrbo, how big of a problem this burnout is, and how they created the idea. Then the Trump administration has been quite busy, today they announced a hold on all federal funding. Kristin and Brian try to decipher what this means and what we know now.
