Going from a special guest to 2014’s The Guest, starring Dan Stevens and Maika Monroe. It was definitely an easy watch, filled with some action packed scenes but a few cheesy moments too.

We have a special guest for this episode, and we discuss the 2020 animated music Over the Moon. We loved how it brought a classic Chinese story to a wider Western audience. And, of course, who didn’t love Gobi, played by Ken Jeong?

We were both super excited to get Promising Young Woman ticked off our Oscars watch list, and it definitely took us down a slightly different turn to what we had expected. 

It took us longer than expected to finish, but we both thought the 1981 war movie Das Boot was brilliant.

We go through our thoughts on the nominations in this year's Oscars.

We watched our first anime movie of 2021 - A Silent Voice, a teen drama based on a manga, which was released in 2017. 

Our first movie of 2021 was the 2018 documentary Minding the Gap, filmed by Bing Liu. At first we thought this was a run-of-the-mill skateboard documentary, but at the halfway point we realised it was so much more than that.

We watched the 1967 movie Point Blank, starring Lee Marvin. It really reminded us of Charley Varrick, but we enjoyed it much more due to Lee Marvin’s outstanding performance and suitability to his role as Mal Reese.

We discover the story behind the classic movie Citizen Kane, with 2020’s Mank. We liked the interesting choice of cinematography style, which was black & white and shot like it was an old movie. Of course, Gary Oldman’s acting was amazing as per usual, but we also really enjoyed the performances from Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Charles Dance, and many more!

We finally sit down to watch Christopher Nolan’s 2020 movie Tenet, starring John David Washington, Robert Pattison, and many more. As with all of Christopher Nolan’s movies, we were blown away by the visuals for this movie.
