We love a rags to riches story. A struggle to victory story. There is something about the challenge that gives us hope that if they can do it, maybe we can too? This month, we begin a series on the EPIC adventure of David, a man after God's own heart. We see David in good times and in challenges. David is a formative biblical leader. The love chapter in Corinthians is very popular for weddings. It is always popular for funerals as you remember fondly a beloved someone. How about when your co-worker just pushes your buttons or your family member who knows how to upset you? How then do we live out love is patient and kind? Join us on Sunday morning as we lean on the wisdom of Paul’s famous letter to the church community in Corinth.

Do you really need your appendix?  Haven’t we grown out or evolved from our need for our appendix?  Just like this, aren’t there some people in the community that we are just better off without? The twelve days of Christmas begin with Christmas Day! Visiting and feasting, calling and traveling is all a part of these days. It is no wonder we might feel like the door is always open! Joy is more than grown-up happiness! Joy is the overwhelming feeling when you cannot help but break into song.  Joy comes from a deep place inside of you, that does not shift with the prevalent feelings of the twists and turns of everyday life.  In this Advent season, we anticipate the coming of Christ, join us on Sunday as we come home for joy!

There is often some construction or destruction or reconciliation work to do before the Nativity scene. Join us on Sunday as we take a look at coming home for peace and what true peace through Jesus includes!

With the turkey roasted and stuffing completed, we turn towards Christmas. But not so quick! There is much to be done - decorations and shopping, cookies and wrapping. In the swirl of doing, we are invited to remember our home in Jesus. We come home to the heart of God for hope. Join us as we begin the first week of Advent on Sunday morning!

Today, our attention switches from second to second, and our connection and allegiance can shift from moment to moment. Often, we are distracted before we even finish the task upon which we are working, as emails ding, phones ring, and text messages beckon us. As followers of Jesus, we belong to the Almighty and offer our gratitude to the Eternal One, who calls us to a different way. Join us on Sunday as we celebrate The Reign of Christ and Thanksgiving.
