This summer has plenty in store for Joelle. Finding herself confronted with the reality of single motherhood, the last thing she expects is gorgeous, passionate Blythe Tilson, a summer employee at Shore Leave, with an uncertain past. Can Joelle resist the temptation of a younger man, and does she dare to consider loving someone again, or will the Davis family curse prove all too true? A story about heartbreak, blame, family, destiny, and the difficulties of returning home, Summer at the Shore Leave Café is the first book in the Shore Leave series.

Great read!
I loved this book, however I was a little disappointed that it ended in a cliffhanger where I need to purchase the next book to find out what happens between Joelle and Blythe. I thought it was a stand alone book and might not have bought it if I had known the ending left you hanging.
:) Love this book!
I love this book...makes you want to move to Minnesota and live on a lake...I love that it involves a family with many generations involved in the story..a love story, a story of growing up, family all around you, thank heavens Abbie wrote more about the family so we have something to look forward to <3
Good start
Good beginning to the series. I gave this 4 stars because of the improbability of some of this. Everything was bam! and they just 'knew'. That bothers me somewhat as it's not very realistic, but the characters were interesting and overall I enjohed the book.
