Jesus’ name is spoken hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of times every single day. People put Jesus’ name on bumper stickers, tattoos, jewelry, buildings, and signs by the highway. His name is significant. On Sunday, we’ll be looking at what Jesus’ name means and what difference that makes for us.

Moral standards in our day are not much different from the standards being lived out in New Testament times. It is not surprising that the motivation to be pure back then still applies today. Reading parts of Paul’s letters feels a little like reading someone’s private email. Even though his words are not directed specifically to us, they reveal his understanding of the role of leaders in the church. That is what God wants us to learn from this passage.
