Jesus’ plan for rescuing his lost sheep is a church community that simultaneously takes sin seriously and extends grace radically. In this kind of community, healthy "gospel restoration" of one another, in our sin, is a regular practice.

In Matthew 18, Jesus gives his disciples four distinct characteristics of his kingdom community - humility, welcome, vigilance, and rescue. All are important, but all flow from this fundamental starting point…. childlike humility.
