It’s easy to become disheartened and bitter when looking at the world around us. It seems as if the immoral escape justice as they abuse their power for personal gain. They have little regard for God yet appear to be thriving in life and wealth. All the while, the faithful believer feels that they can’t get ahead, always facing trouble. Is God even aware of what’s happening? Psalm 73 provides us a look into Asaph’s journey through this ever-present struggle and also gives us a pattern for dealing with our doubts and frustrations.

This week, we heard from Tom Harmon, who is well known to Summit Church. Tom has spent most of his life as an evangelist and preacher all over the US and the world. He shared from various scriptures about the value of God's wisdom, our need for it, and why we should diligently seek it.

God has called His church to the ministry of reconciliation. It's a big word with big implications, but put simply, we exist to help make the world right with God. Really, Christ has done this work on the cross. And now the church's mission is to carry on that work, as ambassadors for Christ.

Living boldly in the face of a broken world that rejects God requires a steadfast practicing of our faith and firm grip on the truth of God’s word. However, this is only possible through God's spirit as He comforts and strengthens us. Although we face opposition, it is through our obedience that He purposes our Christian living and establishes our Christian testimony.

The life of a Christian is more than wearing a believer badge or practicing religious rituals, it is a life marked by true transformation. Deeper and further obedience to His word, as led and empowered by God’s spirit, we are to rid ourselves of sin and replace it with His truth. Those who do not obey His word are not truly children of God and are left to their own demise

Fifty days after the passover, Jesus had ascended to the Father. He told His disciples that a helper would come...the Holy Spirit. At Pentacost, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church. God's Spirit now lives in us and this should be evident to those around us!

In this Old Testament passage, we find that Moses' mother was not only instrumental in the rescue of her son, but in the subsequent rescue of her entire people. God used her to save Moses for a special purpose. God has you in just the right place to be a rescuer to those around you.

In this passage from the Gospel of Luke, Jesus puts on an amazing display of His power by calming a storm. The disciples were amazed. And Jesus asked them, "Where is your faith?" Do you have faith that God can calm storms and do miraculous things in your life?
