Human suffering is a very difficult yet prevalent element in each of our lives. This week in our 'Come and See' series, Pastor Gerald looks at how Jesus’ encounter with a man who was born blind helps inform our response to suffering – our own, and that of others.
This week in our 'Come and See' series, Pastor Ricky explores the exclusive and offensive claims of Christian uniqueness, and encourages us to hold the exclusive claims and the kind character of Jesus together.
Some of us are “fixers.” We want to put things back in order. When we look at the world, we wonder: what’s the solution to that? Over the past weeks, we’ve looked at some of the deepest needs of our world and of our own hearts. Here in John 5, we’ll discover how Jesus addresses it. We’ll see that our problem runs deeper than we imagine, the solution is not what we often think, is better than we imagined, and comes with a real choice.
This week, Pastor Ricky explores Jesus' interaction with the Samaritan woman, and the wisdom of outsiders. We will get a perspective on what is wrong with the world—not 'those people' you disagree with, but the way we fill our thirst with things other than God and the lies we believe about Him.
This week, Pastor Ricky explores how we change the world through Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus. We're invited to be born again and again and again, accept the mystery of a God we can't control or understand, and follow Jesus into His self-sacrificial way of transforming the world.
Jesus’ first “sign” of turning water into wine at a wedding feast is not a party trick meant to impress, but a signal of what he has ultimately come to do – to set us laughing with joy at his Wedding Feast; to bring about the new creation and life eternal.
This week we are launching into our fall series called "Come and See: Encounters with Jesus in the Gospel of John."
This week, Pastor Ricky explores the way technology can burden us with unrealistic expectations and invites us to see Jesus' invitation to be human—nothing more nor less.
This week, we will look at the burden of fear through the lens of Resurrection Hope found in Jesus. The perfect love of Jesus expressed through his life, death, and resurrection confronts and drives away our fears by securing our status in his eternal kingdom. Embracing the knowledge that God is lovingly looking after us frees us from self-centered fear which allows us to lovingly care for the needs of others.
One of the greatest burdens we often carry is the propensity to pride – to comparing and competing. Jesus intends to relieve us of this awful burden by bringing both our Judge and the One who is our Defense, who gives us a new verdict. We’ll look at how Paul models this life in 1 Corinthians 3-4 and demonstrates how to travel light.
