When Nehemiah begins his survey of the destroyed walls of Jerusalem, he is not discouraged, but emboldened by God's unrelenting faithfulness. In the face of adversity, how do we push onward? When Nehemiah first of the desolation of his homeland, he took his pain and anxiety to God in prayer and in planning. When God created an opportunity for Nehemiah to make a difference, Nehemiah was prepared to give his petition to one of the most fearsome emperors of the time, Artaxerxes. How do we stay zoned in on God's plan when circumstances seem erratic and unpredictable?

Taken from Nehemiah 2:1-8 this week, we see two predominant truths. One, there is great peace in being in God's will (and how to be in it). And two, your work affects your witness.
