  • The Book of Psalms: ”Why I Praise God”

    September 24, 2023

    Lead Pastor: Dan Acke

CS LEWIS: “The most valuable thing the Psalms do for me is to express that same delight in God which made David dance.”

I praise God because he is GREAT.
    Psalm 145:1-7
MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.: “I may not be the man I want to be; I may not be the man I ought to be; I may not be the man I could be; I may not be the man I truly can be; but praise God, I’m not the man I once was.”

ALICE COOPER: “I was one thing at one time, and I’m something new. I’m a new creature now. Don’t judge Alice by what he used to be. Praise God for what I am now.”

    Luke 10:19-20

I praise God because he is GOOD.
    Psalm 145:8-16

    Psalm 34:8

Thomas Merton: To be grateful is to recognize the Love of God in everything He has given us - and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him. Gratitude therefore takes nothing for granted, is never unresponsive, is constantly awakening to new wonder and to praise of the goodness of God. For the grateful person knows that God is good, not by hearsay but by experience. And that is what makes all the difference.

I praise God because he is GENEROUS.
    Psalm 145:17-20

    Ephesians 1:7-8
