We will continue to study the Israelites’ journey after they were delivered out of Egypt in today’s message with Pastor Terry. Three months after leaving Egypt they came to Mount Sinai where God appeared to Moses in a powerful way. Not only was His appearance powerful but it was almost frightening… anyone who came near Mount Sinai would die. His mighty power was enough to get their attention, they were captivated and ready to listen to what He had to say. How is God speaking to you today? Are you in awe of Him and ready to listen to His word?

We learn in the Old Testament that despite the Israelites’ efforts, they still failed to obey God’s commands. They were in the age of the law, and they continually fell short, no matter how hard they tried. It’s important for us to understand what happened in the Old Testament so we can now appreciate what God has done for us in the New Testament. He gave His only son to atone for our sins, to bridge the gap. He gives grace freely, we don’t have to do anything to earn God’s favor, it is a gift. Receive the gift and know that the Holy Spirit will guide you.

Do you feel like you are constantly failing to obey God? You’re not alone, no matter how hard we try, using our own strength, we will always fall short. Before God gave them the commandments, He reminded the Israelites of His authority, that He was the one who brought them out of slavery into freedom. God has been SO faithful to us as well… He’s redeemed us from bondage and provided us with a Savior. We should listen to God’s word and take to heart the commandments that He has set in place for us to follow.

We all have fallen short and disobeyed the commandments at one time or another, as much as we desire to do good, it’s part of our human nature to stray away. He appointed specific artisans to create the ornate details, each detail with a specific meaning and symbolism. This was not a task to be taken lightly, the Tabernacle was God’s dwelling place among His people, it signified the presence of God in Israel. In today’s message, Pastor Terry explains the meaning behind the details of the Tabernacle and how it symbolized what was to come in the New Testament.

The world wants you to forget what Christmas is truly about. Instead of being about the birth of the worlds savior, the world wants Christmas to be about materialism. Pastor Terry reminds you today that Christmas is about Christ. He teaches you that all the gifts given throughout all of history do not compare to the one gift that God gave you through His son Jesus. With Jesus you are given the gift of eternal life in Gods Kingdom. You're given access to an eternity with your creator. If you have failed to accept the one great gift that Christmas is truly about change that this year.

Sin's a plague that hunts us as human beings. It's the core thing that rots away at us all. Pastor Terry teaches you today that despite the rot that you and everyone else was born with there's still hope. Through Jesus you can be made pure. Without Christ's influence in your life your battle against sin will ultimately fail. Even if you live a great life here you'll fall short before the judgement of God. Luckily there's Jesus. Once you've accepted Him into your heart God will see you as spotless and Christ will begin to carry your burdens. Ask Him into your heart and begin your battle against sin.

You were born as a sinner. Selfishness, lust, greed... it's all been there inside of you since the day you were born. Only one human was ever born sinless and that human was Jesus. Pastor Terry asks you today “what would a human without sin be like”? He challenges you to consider what Jesus was like throughout His life. How did He act as a baby, a child, then as a teenager? How different He must've been. As you move forward in your walk with Christ challenge yourself to be more like Him in every way. Seek understanding in how He'd react to situations and react like He would.

It's easy to sometimes overlook the significance of Christ. Jesus... a God, became a man. He lived a life not too different from the life that you are living, yet He did it while knowing that He was God. Pastor Terry challenges you today to consider the relevance of an omnipotent God willing to place Himself in a fragile human body. Consider the great love and concern that He must've had for you to suffer the way He did while knowing full well that He didn't have to. If you ever doubt God's love for you remember the great humility that Jesus went through so that He could save you.
