Demonic forces that come against the Christian are meant to take him down. Lies, like deadly-blazing arrows are constantly being launched at the heart of every believer. Wordly anti-God, anti-Christian messages are being released from the hand of the enemy every day. In today’s message, Pastor Terry reminds us to trust in God and His promises in every situation. God has given us the shield of faith!

Biblical submission is one of the most misunderstood and misused concepts within the Christian life. A wrong interpretation of submission can do great damage to a marital relationship. A man who loves his wife as Christ loved the church has a proper view of his duties. But a husband who attempts to control his wife by demanding her submission holds a wrong view of God’s heart for the Christian marriage.

The challenge comes when striving to be as committed to excellence when working on our own. In our time with Pastor Terry, we’re reminded that God wants to bless the work of our hands. If we work as unto the Lord, and not for men, we can honor God and be a good witness for Christ to people in our sphere of influence. Christian employees should be known for their high work ethic. Its God will for us to be a light in the workplace.

It can be difficult to work for someone who treats us unfairly. But if we work for the praise of men, rather than the glory of God, we build our house on sinking sand. Thankfully, no matter what the job is or how well our employer treats us, we can find fulfillment and blessing in our work. As Pastor Terry explains, every Christian is called to work for the approval of God rather than the praise of men. Followers of Christ should take comfort in knowing Who they ultimately work for. The duty and blessing for every Christian is found in working whole-heartedly as unto the Lord.

The Bible describes people as either darkness or light. Although at one time being darkness, when born again we become children of light. In today’s teaching with Pastor Terry, believers are encouraged to draw close to JESUS and discern what is acceptable and pleasing to God as children of light. As God’s children, we’re given the responsibility to impact non-believers lives by reflecting the light of Christ. By shining His light in a dark and fallen world, we expose those things which remain in darkness. The only way we can be a light is to spend time with JESUS.

Just as the natural light can elicit as strong physical response by the eyes, the light of Christ can be spiritually irritating to people around us. As Pastor Terry exhorts believers to shine the light of Christ, he also warns about the conviction that can accompany this light. Are we willing to live day-by-day as children of light even if those around us attack, belittle, or avoid us? Even though God’s light is irritating to those who love darkness, we also draw others to JESUS Christ. We become a witness for Christ by reflecting His light and love in our everyday lives.

How would you define wise living? There’s so much in life that’s dangerous. Many people drift through life simply letting life happen to them. But Christians are exhorted to live in such a way that they redeem the time. In our study with Pastor Terry, we’ll consider the way we spend our days on this earth for eternal purposes. In an age with a growing venue of time wasters, Christians are wise to consider how we live in light of God’s Word. Understanding the will of the Lord is KEY to discerning how to manage time. The Bible is a treasury of information for wise living.

How can we KNOW the will of the Lord for our lives? Does it sometimes seem as if God is holding back His will from our sight? In today’s teaching with Pastor Terry, we’ll consider how every believer can actively seek and know the will of God. The Word of God exposes time wasters that can get in the way of hearing and knowing His will for our lives. Christians must to learn to live with understanding. Managing technology and resources is essential to discerning God’s will. The wise make room to spend time with God in prayer and by making His Word their priority.

God is a God of order. And it is God’s will for us to understand our place within that order. The Bible clearly speaks about the importance of God’s design for a joyful relationship between a husband and wife. That said, it’s no wonder why the enemy of God has done so much to attack and redesign His plan for marriage. As we open the Word with Pastor Terry, we’ll reaffirm the value of God’s design for social order in the Christian marriage. A husband is to lead his wife through loving service under the leadership of Christ.
