When someone approaches you and says, I've got some good news and bad news, which one do you want first? How do you respond? Well, today Pastor Terry will begin sharing with us the BAD NEWS first. As we just heard from Pastor Terry, sin is at the very core of what is wrong with humanity and it affects everyone!

Peace is a word that's being thrown around quite a bit these days. Everyone seems to have a plan for bringing peace to the various regions where there is conflict. But, is this the same kind of peace we're promised as Christians?...simply a lack of conflict? No! God's peace supersedes all of life's circumstances!

In the last couple broadcasts of Summons Pastor Terry has been sharing with us a few different things that all Christians should be DOING on a regular basis. And the one that we'll learn about today is under more attack then most. God has commanded us to honor marriage. And we know that marriage is between one man and one woman.

Pastor Terry's exhortation is one that we should all carefully consider. When was the last time that you read a book about one of the Christians that God used in His Body in the past? Men like Jim Elliot, CS Lewis, and Charles Spurgeon were used mightily by God and their testimonies can be used by God to stir us up to good works.

Pastor Terry will continue sharing with us today the seven actions that should mark the life of a Christian. God wants us to be in motion as believer's. We can't just SAY that we believe in God and then not live like we do. And one of the actions is to identify and steer clear of strange doctrines which seemingly abound in this day and age.

One of the simplest ways that we can communicate the joys of our Christian faith is to share the Gospel message...humanity is lost in sin, there's nothing that man can do about it, God sent His own Son Jesus to live a perfect life in our place, He then died to pay the penalty for our sins...believing in that causes one to inherit eternity with God.

Today's message is entitled Enter the Fray and this message communicates the command that Jesus gave all of His followers to be about His Father's business...just like He was. And one of the key things that we need to do BEFORE and DURING our involvement is to pray...seek the LORD for His will...pray for those that lead you.

This walk called Christianity can be uncomfortable at times. What do you do when you see a brother and sister drifting away from Jesus and turning towards the world? Do you just pray and hope that it will all turn out? That's NOT what God wants us to do! Sometimes, God wants us to intervene and warn our brothers and sisters of the spiritual danger they might be in.

There is nothing that we can do to earn our salvation. We can't pray enough, give enough money , or attend church enough. There is NOTHING we can to to gain entrance into heaven. God's grace has been extended to us so that we might simply believe that Jesus is Who He said He was and that His death atones for our sins.

While all other religions on the face of the earth demand some sort of effort on the part of the believer in order to get to heaven...Christianity stands alone in that our faith declares that there is NOTHING that we can do to gain entrance into heaven. Jesus has made a new and better way for us through His work on the cross.
