Just days earlier, Chris’s wife Jennifer suffered a massive brain aneurysm that led to a stroke during emergency surgery. In this episode, Chris opens up about what happened, the uncertainty that followed, and how he is processing trauma, fear, and the unknown through his Christian faith.

Rather than asking “why did this happen,” Chris reflects on several principles that are helping him navigate one of the most difficult seasons of his life: the illusion of control, trusting God in suffering, refusing bitterness, and honoring the vows he made to love his wife regardless of what the future may hold.

This episode is different from the usual Sunday Afternoon Smokes conversation, but it’s an honest look at faith, marriage, trauma, and resilience when life changes without warning.
