Christian faith abounds in practical wisdom about how to be successfully married, building a union that resonates with love as designed by the Creator.

A Christian minister in the Anglican Church of Australia since 1980, Dr Bowles has prepared many couples for their weddings-and their marriages. He has also provided pastoral counselling for married couples facing challenges.

There's no secret that a housing crisis exists in Australia.  Over the past five years, the median home value has increased by around 40% (CoreLogic).  But if you look at just South East Queensland, that increase climbs to a whopping 75%.

This means the median price for a home in South East Queensland is almost $1.1 million, with nearly half of all houses in the region being valued at over $1 million.

In Warwick, the local Uniting Church decided to do something to help their community navigate the housing crisis.

Uniting Place Warwick opened on September 15; it's an affordable housing development offering safe and affordable homes for low-income families in the Warwick and Southern Downs region.

Rev Ansie Liebenberg is the Lead Minister of the Warwick Killarney Freestone Uniting Church, and spoke to Alex Milne about the church's commitment to the local community.

Today is Australian Peacekeeping Day, it gives us the opportunity to honour Australians who have served in peacekeeping missions for the past 78 years. Not all peacekeepers are members of the defence force, they might also be police or civilians. Peacekeepers have many roles including doctors, nurses, translators and engineers.

Australians have been involved in peacekeeping since 1947. They were part of the first United Nations mission to Netherlands East Indies (now Indonesia). Since then they have served all over the world. Peacekeepers go to countries where there is, or has been conflict. They try to keep or bring peace. Sometimes peacekeepers provide security or help to rebuild communities.

More than 66,000 Australian men and women have served in more than 50 international peacekeeping operations since 1947; tragically 16 have lost their lives.

Alex Milne spoke to Regimental Sergeant Major Allan Castle (retired) about his experiences as a peacekeeper in Rwanda. The Australian peacekeepers served in Rwanda following the genocide in 1994.

Ahead of the 2025 Baptist World Congress in Brisbane, Alex Milne spoke to Rev. Dr. Elijah Brown, the General Secretary and CEO of the Baptist World Alliance.

As General Secretary and CEO, Rev. Dr. Brown has the overall leadership responsibilities for the BWA and is its chief representative within the Baptist family and to governments, global organizations and institutions, and other Christian World Communions and faith traditions.  

Elected as the ninth General Secretary and the youngest in the history of the BWA, Rev. Dr. Brown brings strategic and visionary leadership as the principal leader to the Baptist movement as well as a ministry passion for the vision of the BWA to “network the Baptist family to impact the world for Christ.”

Alex also spoke to Rev. Stewart Pieper, Director of Church Services for Queensland Baptists about what people can expect from the 2025 Baptist World Congress.
