I had the great pleasure to rework the wonderful soulful voice of Alan Scaffardi ! Out now on IRMA Records

"Papik’s ‘’Staying For Good’’ is a cosmopolitan nu jazz anthem taken from ‘’Rhythm Of Life’’ album that released in the of 2009 by IRMA. This is the first digital release, single of the album and includes five very IRMAesque remixes. First of all comes Guido Nemola (Recycle/IT) with a percussion:ed deep house rework that keeps the nu jazz spirit alive wiuth its deep jazz bassline. Christian X-Bass Lisi Remix is a radio friendly one with beautiful piano strings and a midtempo rhythm. Suonho’s In The Right Groove Remix is taken the original in the right direction, fat bassline, deep funk groove, clever keys and his usual cinematic weapons are floating in your ears for more than five minutes. Jazzy Gentle, the abstact jazz consipiracy of Romeo Sandri, remix begins with an weird intro and continues with more electronic and spacy elements. At last Mesa Verde created under the strong bassline a deep jazzy house latinesque rework with so much soul in it."

Baker Jr a.k.a.

Tolles Tape!

My step daughter sings in her school chorus, was the lead in her school musical, has a fantastic voice, and is well on her way to becoming an outstanding classical pianist.

But she don’t know blues.

She decided to try out for her high school jazz band as a pianist and was told that she would need to play a 12-bar blues and solo using a blues scale. The day she asked me what those things were stands as one of my proudest. Step Daughter dear, welcome to the most musical fun you’ll ever have. Welcome to the foundation of my musical existence. Unfortunately the sheet music her teacher gave her had a 12-bar blues that went to a ii chord. I was offended. I was so disappointed in the entire school system. No there are no ii chords in a 12-bar blues. I - IV - I - V - IV - I. Anything else is blasphemy!

The next day I wrote up a little 12-bar blues for RPM… and did it in 7/8 time. Screw You, musical establishment!

The lyrics are more arguments against the flat Earth. The lead guitar is my Gibson ES 335 Pro, and the rhythm is my Takaminie F 400 S 12-string.

Chorus:

Its so obvious

anyone can see

Its so obvious

anyone can see

Open your eyes for me

and you will agree

Verse 1:

Tell you something you don’t know

Have a bit of the truth

Tell you something you don’t know

Have a bit of the truth

I can see for ever now

I can show you how

Verse 2:

climbing higher and higher

and you still don’t see

climbing higher and higher

and you still don’t see

Need to get higher still

for you to take this pill

Quiet Verse:

What I’m trying to tell you

Is that you’re very small

What I’m trying to tell you

Is that you’re very small

The world around you is so big

you’re mind will never know
