Key Thought: Church unity comes as we focus our eyes on Christ and the gospel.

1. The problem of division in the Corinthian church (vs 10-12)
2. Three Rhetorical questions (vs 13-16)
Is Christ divided?
Was Paul crucified?
Were you baptized in the name of Paul?
3. Prioritizing the proclamation of the gospel and the cross of Christ (vs 17-18)

How Can We Recapture the Heart of the Lord's Supper?

Big Idea: The Lord's Supper is a Rehearsal of the Gospel
1. Communion is NOT...about me (17-22)
2. Communion IS...a Time to Remember (23-26)
3. Communion IS...a Time to Repent (27-34)

How does God empower His people for mission? (Acts 1:1-9)
1. The promise of the Spirit (1-5)
2. The power of the Spirit (6-9)

Just as Jesus had no place to lay his head, and the church of Acts was dispersed by persecution, their story, as it relates to the world and its values, is one of opposition, not of integration. (Acts 8:1–8)

1. The expectation of the Scattered (v 1-3)
2. The experience of the Scattered (v 4-5)
3. The effect of the Scattered (v 6-8)

What new attitudes mark a Gospel-shaped life? (Romans 12:9-16)
1. Love Genuinely (9, 10)
2. Serve Sacrificially (11)
3. Trust Patiently (12)
4. Contribute Generously (13)
5. Bless Exponentially (14-16)

Why Should Jesus’ Resurrection Matter to Us? (1 Corinthians 15:50-57)
* Because We Will Share in His Transformation (50-53)
* Because We Will Share in His Triumph (54-56)
* Because We Will Share in His Thanksgiving (57)

In Matthew 2:18-19, Jesus forewarned his disciples about the exact details of his betrayal, death and resurrection, “The Son of Man will be delivered over…and they will condemn him to death and deliver him up to be flogged and crucified…and he will be raised on the third day”. In the following days of Jesus passion this would all certainly happen as Jesus prophesied. But as much as Jesus embraced the mission given to him by his Father, how are we to understand how this fits into God’s eternal plan to save the world?
