  • The Christian Growth - Matthew 4:18-20; 16:16-18 John 21:15-18 2 Peter 3:14-18

Peter’s life is almost a case study in how God grows a us from impulsive faith to seasoned spiritual maturity. When we trace Peter’s journey across the Gospels and into Acts and his letters, we see that spiritual growth is progressive, filled with grace, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Peter’s story reminds us that God does not wait for perfection before He calls us. Instead, God patiently forms us over time. Spiritual maturity is not instantaneous—it is forged through calling, correction, failure, restoration, and faithful perseverance.

Peter's journey shows us the transformative power of faith and God's forgiveness. His story illustrates how ordinary, impulsive people like us can be used for extraordinary purposes in God's plan. Peter's life challenges us to respond to Jesus' call to follow Him, trusting in His guidance and grace as we navigate our own spiritual journeys.

Today I’ll share a few key insights about spiritual growth and maturity from the life of the apostle Peter.

  • Christ Dies and Rises to a New Life - Matthew 27:39-54; 28:1-10

Picture the scene, Jesus is buried in the tomb. The tomb is protected by a large stone. It has an official Roman seal on it, and Roman soldiers are guarding the entrance to the tomb to prevent anyone from stealing Jesus’ body.

With those security measures in place, the religious rulers felt secure that the excitement around Jesus would soon go away. Jesus lay dead in the tomb, and His disciples were frightened and hiding in Jerusalem.

The priests, Pharisees, and religious leaders thought that they had won. But we all know that’s not how the story ended.

I’ll offer a few insights related to the events surrounding Jesus’ resurrection.

  • Christ the Atoning Sacrifice - 1 John 2:1-6; 4:9-17

In a time when truth is often blurred and faith is questioned, John’s message calls us to clarity. Are we grounded in what we know about Jesus, or are we drifting with the cultural currents?

Imagine standing in a pitch-black room. You strike a match—and the flame doesn’t just shine, it drives back the darkness. In a world of fear, confusion, and division, God’s love is that light. But more than a flicker, John tells us it is a consuming fire from the heart of God..

In today’s lesson, we will see how God is the ultimate source of love. In fact, God is the origin of love.

This leads to the main theme of today’s lesson.

Since God is the originator of love, John tell us to love one another.

Today, we explore agapè love—God’s selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love—and why it's essential to the life of a believer.

  • Christ Once For All Sacrifice - Hebrews 10:19-25; 32-36

Everyone who has pushed themselves to complete a goal, challenged themselves in any way to achieve significant accomplishments, or struggled to remain hopeful and not give up in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges, has faced difficulties, failure, or opposition and has had to persevere to complete the goals, achieve the accomplishments or simply keep going another day without giving up hope.

Perseverance is required if we want to accomplish meaningful goals and accomplishments at work, in school, in our personal life, in sports, and in our spiritual life.

When we lack perseverance, we give up or abandon our efforts to achieve our goals when we face challenges or difficulties.

Lack of perseverance means lack of growth and accomplishment in our personal, professional, or spiritual life.

In spiritual life, do you know anyone who has turned away from Christianity or maybe someone whose belief and faith in Jesus seems to be wavering? Do you know anyone who was brought up in the church and believed in Jesus Christ, but now seems to be questioning or doubting their Christian beliefs? I suspect most of us know someone who fits one of those situations. If we’re honest with ourselves, maybe our faith has wavered at some point.

In today’s scripture, the author of Hebrews, wrote to appeal to and encourage early Christians and present-day Christians to persevere or endure in their faith, despite difficulties, opposition, or persecution.

  • Offering a Sweet Aroma o God -Leviticus 1:3-17

Today’s lesson scripture opens with God speaking to Moses from the Tabernacle and giving instructions on the burnt offering. In this offering, the entire animal is consumed by fire, symbolizing complete dedication to God. While we no longer bring animal sacrifices, this passage teaches us valuable truths about surrender, atonement, and worship.

Today, we will examine the steps of the burnt offering and I’ll offer a few insights for your consideration that show how the burnt offering process relates to our spiritual sacrifices as believers.

In today’s scripture, I want to examine the Old Testament priesthood and the consecration process and make it relevant and relatable for us.

  • The Story of Ezekiel Ezekiel 3:10-11; 24:15-27

Ezekiel lived during one of the darkest and most tumultuous times in Israel’s history. He spoke to people who were displaced and disoriented. Ezekiel’s prophetic ministry provides valuable insights and lessons that are relevant for us today. Lessons about purpose, obedience, vision, repentance, and the unshakeable sovereignty of God. Let’s walk through Ezekiel’s story and uncover the truths that still speak powerfully to us.

  • Judah taking Captive - 2 Kings 24:18-25:9

The theme of today's scripture is surrender.

Surrendering or letting go is not easy. It’s not something we can do once and never deal with again. Letting go or surrendering to God is a daily, moment-by-moment choice.

The enemy constantly seeks to cloud our mind with worries, doubts, and fears. Surrendering to God becomes a lifestyle of daily giving it all to Him.

We will look at three aspects of surrendering to God.

  • The Holy Scriptures - Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Timothy 3:14-15

In today’s lesson, David and Paul describe the incredible value and benefits of studying God’s word on a regular and consistent basis. In fact, I pray that today’s scripture encourages each of you to spend less time consuming other forms of information and devote more time to studying God’s Word.

We will examine this passage through two simple but meaningful areas of focus:

o What the Word of God is.

o What the Word of God does or the benefits of the Word of God.

In today’s scripture, John described some of the physical aspects of the New Jerusalem.

Let’s consider John’s description and its symbolism. I will also highlight the connection between Genesis 1-3 and Revelation 22. In particular, we will consider the loss and curses brought on by God because of the disobedience and sin of Adam and Eve in Genesis and the restoration and redemption of God in Revelation 22.
