Life is complicated. Our schedules are packed, our responsibilities are endless, and slowing down seems nearly impossible. But Jesus modeled a different way of living—one marked by simplicity, intentionality, and peace. What if less really could lead to more? Join us Sunday as Phil Brookman continues our Abide in Me series with a lesson on “Simplicity” and how making margin and slowing down can create more room for God and others.
Life is heavy. Between work, family, relationships, and everyday responsibilities, the weight can feel overwhelming. But what if following Jesus isn't about adding one more thing to carry, but learning to carry life's burdens differently? In John 15, Jesus invites us to abide in Him and discover a life marked by greater peace, freedom, and love. Join us Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in Baugh Auditorium on the Oklahoma Christian campus as Phil continues our series, Abide in Me.
We live in a world that encourages us to say “yes” to every desire. But what if saying “no” to ourselves could help us say a deeper “yes” to God? This Sunday, as we continue our Abide in Me theme, Daniel will explore the spiritual practice of fasting and how it can reshape our desires, deepen our dependence on God, and align our hearts more closely with His.
We live in a world that rarely stops—always working, scrolling, consuming, and rushing to the next thing. But Jesus offers a different rhythm. In Matthew 12, He reminds us that rest is not a burden but a gift. What might change if we learned to work hard, rest well, and trust that God can keep the world turning while we stop? Mitch will continue our Abide in Me series with this valuable lesson.
Jesus modeled a life of listening—listening to God through Scripture and learning to recognize His voice in the world around us. This week, we’ll explore what it means to “hear like Jesus” and practice listening with open hearts as we continue our Abide in Me series.
We will continue our Abide in Me subseries on prayer. Prayer isn’t just about what we say—it’s about the heart behind it. In Luke 11, Jesus teaches us to pray with persistence & boldness. This Sunday, we’ll explore what it means to “pray through,” not just pray for, and why the reward of fervent prayer is worth the risk.
Jesus prayed often, and His disciples noticed. In Luke 11, they asked Him, “Lord, teach us to pray.” Prayer isn’t something we simply figure out—it’s something we learn and practice. This week, we’ll continue our Abide in Me series, exploring how to build a stronger foundation for prayer by following Jesus’ example.
What does faithfulness look like when you can’t control the outcome? Paul is in prison, other preachers are taking advantage of his circumstances, and he doesn’t even know whether he’s going to live or die. But instead of obsessing over outcomes, he keeps returning to what matters: Christ is being proclaimed, there is still fruitful work to do, and “whatever happens,” they can live lives worthy of the gospel. Sunday morning, we’ll welcome back our friend, Josh Kingcade, for a message that encourages us to loosen our grip on outcomes and learn to measure our lives by faithfulness instead.
Jesus didn’t simply call us to believe in Him; He called us to follow Him. A disciple is someone who learns the habits, rhythms, attitudes, and way of life of their Rabbi. The goal isn’t just to know about Jesus, but to become more like Him. Join us Sunday as we continue our series Abide in Me, discover what is shaping our spiritual life, and what it would look like if our life was so formed by Jesus that we could be mistaken for Him.
Grace is a gift—not something we earn. But if we’ve already received grace, what role does effort play in our walk with Jesus? This Sunday, we’ll continue our new Abide in Me series and explore the difference between being saved by grace and being formed into the image of Christ, and why following Jesus requires both surrender and intentional effort.
