You and I enjoy the benefits of a similar, but much more profound and eternal arrangement. As Pastor Holland will point out in today’s message, just as David’s covenant with Jonathon secured the safety of his son Mephibosheth, we have been spared judgment because of the covenant God made on our behalf. It’s nothing of our own merit, nothing we earned or can even maintain. The covenant that locks in our eternal security is fully reliant on the love and grace Jesus extended on the cross.
