Mental health can sometimes receive a major stigma. However, God's word provides the answers. All we have to do is turn to scripture to see how God views mental illness.

Becoming a unified body in Christ can be hard. We all come from different backgrounds. Internal pressures are a major challenge, but external pressures can be an even greater challenge.
The early church’s persecution should have been enough to shatter their faith, but they rose above, and spread Christianity to the entire world.

As we discussed last week, the early church faced significant persecution. They boldly persevered against those outside pressures. But, much like today’s church, there were also internal struggles.
Through the centuries, some internal struggles caused fractures in the church, causing many denominations to spring up. Today, we’re going to look at some of the things the early church struggled with.

This is the church in the first century AD. AD is short for Anno Domini, which means the year of our Lord. Jesus’s coming had such an impact on the world that we mark our calendars by it. His early followers believed so strongly in His teachings, that they took his message all across the known world of that time. They sold their possessions, lived hard lives, and many ultimately went to their brutal deaths in His name.

I will be going through the history of the church, with an emphasis on the early church.
I believe understanding how the church got started and spread, will help us with a deeper understanding of God’s plan.
What did the early church believe? Who were its key players? How did the church evolve through the centuries to what we know today?
Ultimately, we know through the book of Acts that prayer and sharing of God’s word.
Acts 6:4 says
'But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” '
I hope you’ll join me Sunday July 11th for the first episode of Season 2.

Did you know Jesus never uttered the words “I am God?” For that reason, there are many today who don’t believe in the deity of Jesus.
Having grown up in a church that believed in the Trinitarian God, I never questioned that Jesus was God.
It wasn’t until recently, in an online forum, that I saw people arguing on this very topic. To me, it seems silly that anyone would believe Jesus was anything other than God, but let’s look at what the scripture tells us.

In the age of organics and clean living, we have to look no further than thousands of years ago to get all the health advice we could ever need. Adam and Eve were the OG vegetarians. Moses and the people of Israel were pretty much on the paleo diet, and Leviticus had advice for dealing with COVID 19.

The term “Gospel” literally means good news. The first four books of the New Testament are known as the gospels. The “good news” represented in these books is the revelation of Jesus’s birth, death, and resurrection.
Jesus’s perfect sacrifice would be the ultimate atonement for our sins, defeating satan and bringing about salvation for those who believe.
But, how long was this part of God’s plan? Is it possible that this was His plan all along? Stay tuned and find out in today’s episode of Sunday School with Sean.

Today we ask the question "is God just?" I want to be clear that when asking this question and reviewing what the Bible has to say, we aren't putting God on trial. We are merely putting man's understanding of God on trial. We approach this as faithful believers, knowing that ultimately, if God chooses to do something, then what he does must be just, because that is part of His divine nature.

Christianity hinges on the birth, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus. Unfortunately, we don’t have any podcasts or Youtube videos of Jesus from the first century AD. So there is still an element of faith that must be held, but there is also a good amount of evidence that Jesus actually existed.
