We (the Church) are the overarching reason - the joy that was set before Him - that Jesus went through the agony of the Cross and wonder of resurrection. If we are to plough through problems for the sake of the Joy of heaven before us, then we need not take our eyes off Him but to "Consider Jesus".

Others may see it and warn us, but the pride we are consumed in prevents us from hearing it, and motivates us to be angry with those who try and point it out. He was murdered and the remnant of people who were left behind are in fear of what Nebuchadnezzar will do to them. They desire to go to Egypt but decide to ask the prophet Jeremiah to seek the Lord on the matter and that they will obey whatever the Lord says. And now, for the rest of the story!

When pride gets hold of us, what we have is not enough, what we don't have is everything we need, and if we don't change we will end up losing everything. We look at king Ahab and see how a king is brought down by a desire for a vegetable garden (further proof that vegetables are bad!)
