People have come into our life that have spoken words of loyalty, care, and faithfulness, only to show us that their words were not genuine. They let us down when we needed them most, pretended to be something they never were, or just plain said what they thought we wanted to hear having no intention of being or doing anything supportive. They were “Fakers, Pretenders, and Quacks” which is our topic in tomorrow’s service.
As we continue to look at the situation King David was in during the rebellion of his son Absalom, we see that someone showed up to support David, speaking words of loyalty and providing things his team needed as they journeyed into the wilderness,. But he wasn’t genuine. How could David have recognized this? What are the clues these types of people leave behind to indicate who they really are?
That’s not all this episode of David’s life will teach us. We also will see one big reason trouble has found it’s way into our life. Learning this will help you keep some of the bad situations away from you.
