Mark 1:1-20

Mark opens his gospel telling us this is the good news about the Son of God who is now here. God has not spoken in four hundred years, and when he does after Jesus is baptized, he tears open heaven and speaks.

The word "life" is a small word with a big meaning. The word means different things to us, but what is the life that Jesus wants us to have? In John 10:10 he tells us what that life is. And it's better than any other definition of life.

No one likes to make a bad decision, but what should a Christian do when they fall down in sin? They need to get back up. But how can they get back up and move forward with Jesus?

Eternity is something we can't hardly comprehend, yet everyone will spend eternity in one of two places. Paul encouraged us not to lose heart and get discouraged, but to be renewed day by day in our relationship with Jesus and keep our focus on eternity.

We look at five metaphors in Scripture that teach us what we need to be as followers of Christ who represent him and tell about him.

Every decision we make is saying "Yes" to one thing and "No" to another. We must prioritize the things that are most important to us. Jesus gave Christians the ultimate guide to making God-centered priorities in Matthew 6:33, which helps us seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness in our finances, in our time and in our conversations.

Every decision the Christ follower makes is to bring glory to God. We look at a few areas in our life where we can make godly decisions that will glorify him.

No matter how much we talk about it, we cannot spend enough time talking about Jesus' love for us and we cannot say everything there is to say about that wonderful topic of Jesus' love for each of us.

Decisions are like dominoes. Each one effects the other and they lead you somewhere. Christ followers must learn to make decisions that lead them to glorify God in their lives and to spend eternity with him.

Dads have lots of responsibilities and they are concerned about the many needs of their family. But there is one question for husbands and fathers that is more important than all others. In Ephesians 5:25, Paul said husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the church. What does that mean and how do I do it?
