The Bible is full of tragic figures and anti-heroes and examples of How-Not-To-Be. But Jesus stands in stark contrast to them all and specifically, a guy named Jepthah, who let his woundedness fuel his drive for power over others. So, what should we do with OUR woundedness?

What kind of world would we live in if people gave away a significant portion of their income? The Bible writers say we ought to live like that--generously--because God is generous with us.

If you have any sort of history with God, there's power in remembering who God is and what he's done in your life. And if you don't have a "history" so to speak, there's power in saturating yourself in the history of Jesus, where you just might find that you've been part of *his* story all along.

Two scenes in the New Testament involve a crowd, a door, and Jesus. In one, a group is trying to get through to Jesus, aware of how much they need what he has. In the other, Jesus is knocking, hoping someone will hear and answer so he can give them true riches they don't even know they need.
