ADVENT: GOD LEAD US
The lighting of the Christ Candle during Advent holds profound significance in the Christian tradition, symbolizing the culmination of the season's anticipation and the arrival of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day. As the central and fifth candle in the Advent wreath, the Christ Candle embodies the hope, peace, joy, and love Christ brings to the world. Its illumination signifies the spiritual journey from darkness to light, mirroring the prophetic expectation of the Messiah and the realization of God's promise to humanity. Lighting the Christ Candle on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day is a powerful visual and symbolic reminder of the ultimate purpose of Advent—celebrating the birth of Jesus and embracing the transformative light of Christ in a world yearning for salvation and redemption.
