Words carry power — to wound or to heal. Instead of returning harm for harm, Jesus calls us to bless, speaking life when others speak death. This week, we wrestle with how blessing becomes a spiritual weapon and a witness to God’s kingdom.
Jesus’ way of love extends even to those who oppose us. This message invites us to see enemies the way God does — as people worth loving, praying for, and pursuing with grace.
Ryan Newman is a missionary with the Church of the Nazarene serving in the Eurasia Region alongside his family. With a heart for reaching unreached people groups, Ryan has spent over a decade engaged in global ministry, including service in Mongolia, eight years in Thailand, and most recently relocating to Slovenia in 2023 to focus on church planting. His work centers on developing leaders, making disciples, and helping launch new faith communities in spiritually underserved areas. Drawing from his experience in Southeast Asia, Ryan also teaches innovative, tech-assisted church planting methods that help the Gospel take root in challenging contexts. Through his ministry, Ryan inspires believers to live boldly on mission and invites others to partner through prayer, generosity, and service.
This Sunday we close out 2025 with a challenge from Acts 1:1–11 — to live a Spirit-empowered, others-focused life as we enter the new year. Jesus calls His followers to be His witnesses beginning right where they live and extending out into the world. Instead of living “me first,” we are invited to seek God first, put others before ourselves (Philippians 2:3–4), and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into genuine impact — in our homes, neighborhoods, community, and beyond. We’ll celebrate baptisms together and commit to a new year marked by Spirit-filled action, authentic faith, and blessing the people around us.
The wait is over. The promise fulfilled. In this final message of the Advent season, we rejoice in the birth of Jesus — Emmanuel, God with us. Hope has come, light has broken through the darkness, and the Savior of the world is here.
Before we can celebrate His birth, we must recognize our need. In this message, we reflect on why humanity needed saving — and how only Jesus could rescue us from the weight of sin and restore what was lost. His coming meets our deepest need with unfailing love.
The birth of Jesus wasn’t just good news for some — it was good news for everyone. This week, we celebrate that the Savior came for all people, breaking barriers and extending grace to every heart willing to receive Him.
Long before the manger, God had a plan. In this message, we look at the promises and prophecies that pointed to the coming of Jesus — reminders that God’s timing is perfect and His Word never fails. Even in seasons of waiting, He is faithful to fulfill what He has promised.
In a world that says hold on tightly and look out for yourself, Jesus teaches something radically different — that real life is found in generosity.
As we conclude our journey through the Articles of Faith, we focus on the promises and practices that keep our hope alive and our faith grounded.
